Details on Bushkill Falls Hiking
Bushkill Falls is known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania, and it’s no wonder so many visitors flock to this attraction every year. One of the greatest things about Bushkill Falls is that there is a trail for all skill levels. Each of the four trails is well-marked with a different color and each one offers a different view of the falls. Select the best trail for you and your group!
- Green Trail: This trail is an easy walk and takes around 15 minutes. There is no climbing and the trail opens up to a view of the Main Falls.
- Yellow Trail: This trail offers hikers views of Laurel Glen, the Upper Canyon and Lower Gorge Falls. It takes about 45 minutes to complete.
- Blue Trail: This trail is more moderate in difficulty and can take as long as 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. The hike is worth the many steps put into it as it offers views of Pennell Falls.
- Red Trail: This is the most difficult of the four trails and can take up to 2 hours to complete. The Red Trail opens up to views of Bridal Veil Falls.
While you’re at Bushkill Falls, there are other things to enjoy in the park area, including paddle boat rides, mini-golf, and picnic areas. As you plan your trip, keep in mind, the trails are closed December through March.
Other Great Hikes to Check Out
While you’re visiting, you’ll want to check out other great hikes, too. Owners Grant and Jeanne Genzlinger, are experts when it comes to this area. They have compiled a Wonderful Waterfall Tour that will take you to some of their favorite waterfalls near the Inn. Order a picnic, grab one of the Inn’s walking sticks, and plan for a day of outdoor exploration. If you still need more places to explore, check out Dingmans Ferry in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Dingmans Falls is an easy 1.2-mile trail that opens up to a beautiful cascading waterfall.
