  1. Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Once the snow starts to fall, grab your skis and hit the slopes. The Pocono Mountains have many great locations for skiing and snowshoeing. A beautiful spot with frozen waterfalls and trails to explore is the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Their McDade Trail runs the length of the park and is ideal for a day spent snowshoeing. Promised Land State Park is another great park with flat trails for cross-country skiing.

  1. A Sleigh Ride on a Snowy Day

Nearby, Happy Trails Stables offers winter sleigh rides. Their farm is located in Waymart, PA, which is just about 12 miles from Hawley. For over 20 years, Happy Trails Stables has offered horseback riding on scenic mountain trails, plus horse-drawn sleigh rides.

  1. Tubing at the biggest snow tubing park in the United States

Camelback Mountain is home to the biggest snow tubing park in the U.S. The area is located a little less than an hour from us here at The Settlers Inn. This year, Camelback will feature Galactic Snow Tubing with an after-dark galactic LED light show. Tickets for snow tubing are sold on a first come basis and range from $33 midweek to $55 weekends and holidays.

  1. The annual Hawley Winterfest event

Every year, the town of Hawley looks forward to the annual Hawley Winterfest. The schedule of events will keep you entertained from morning to night. The schedule is packed with fun activities like carriage rides, live holiday music, crafts, shopping, and of course a visit from Santa himself. While here, we invite you to stay for our Winterfest Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Our Executive Chef has compiled a seasonal menu of items like Pumpkin Pie French Toast and Shrimp and Grits.
