True to Nature, True to Craft
The Settlers Inn is delighted to welcome Shawnee Craft to the inn for a special beer and food pairing dinner on February 21. The Genzlinger and Kirkwood families have much in common, the love of the Arts and Crafts style, a commitment to sustainability and a passion for craft beers. It is a natural to combine our efforts to feature “Food from here and Beer from near”.
Chef Ben and our own beer expert, Tiffany Rogers, are pleased to welcome Timothy Meyers, Shawnee Craft “Brand Evangelist” who will be on hand to discuss the beers we will be sampling which includes:
Black IPA (a well hopped Black IPA – with a good deal of bitterness – a great aperitif because it gets the gastric juices flowing and inspires a hearty appetite
Raspberry Blanche -A Witbier style with a generous helping of raspberries added. Tart yet sweet, this is great with lighter dishes and anything with red berries.
Session Porter -a velvety smooth porter that pairs well with charcuterie, cheeses, and chocolate.
Chestnut Braun -A hearty American Brown Ale with chestnuts added. Pairs well with main courses and heavier dishes. (Should be a natural in our Chestnut Tavern!)
Shawnee uses mostly organic ingredients, some that they grow themselves on site as well as honey from their Aviary.
