Begin your Poconos waterfalls tour by heading out to Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. In the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Buttermilk Falls Trail is 1.4 miles one-way and is one of the tallest waterfalls in New Jersey. The trail is listed as moderately difficult because of the steep climb uphill.
Another must-see waterfall when visiting Pennsylvania is Dingmans Falls. The falls are the second highest waterfall in Pennsylvania at 130-feet. While there, you’ll also be able to see Silverthread Falls. The area offers a bench seating area to watch the falls drop 80-feet. The hike is easy and there is a flat boardwalk to lead the way.
The tallest waterfall in the state of Pennsylvania is Raymondskill Falls. The waterfall plunges 180-feet in 3 areas. There are 2 viewing platforms to view the falls.
Hikers looking for a challenge should head over to Lehigh Gorge State Park. The park is home to the Glen Onoko Falls Trail which is a steep 4.1-mile trail. The hike is worth the work as the Onoko Falls are stunning and fall over 3 separate falls. Wear shoes with good tread as there are muddy and slippery spots.
Known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania is stunning Bushkill Falls. Since 1904, Bushkill Falls has been a scenic destination for tourists and locals. Bushkill Falls is home to 8 waterfalls. Be sure to wear your hiking shoes as the falls are accessed by a series of trails. There is an admission fee to enter the park but there is plenty to do while there. The park offers exhibits, mini golf, gem mining, fishing, and paddleboat rides.
