Where is the Best Lake Wallenpaupack Lodging?
You’ve heard the saying: A day at the lake restores the soul. When it comes to a stay on Lake Wallenpaupack, we believe it. Lake Wallenpaupack is the third largest lake in Pennsylvania covering 52-miles of shoreline. When planning your getaway to the Pocono Mountains, where is the best Lake Wallenpaupack lodging?
Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort has been a favorite lodging location for both locals and visitors for many years. In May of 2016, Ehrhardt’s will relaunch as The Silver Birches Resort. The Silver Birches Resort was the original name of the inn back in 1928. It was later changed in the late 1980’s. The accommodations at Silver Birches will still offer lake view and non-lake view rooms and 2-bedroom cottages complete with kitchen, living room, bathroom, and porch. In May, the resort will feature lake-front homes just steps away from Lake Wallenpaupack. Guests who stay at the resort will still be able to enjoy the newly restored banquet center and restaurant.
The Settlers Inn is just minutes from Lake Wallenpaupack in Hawley, PA. The 1920’s Arts and Crafts Lodge features 23 guest rooms, an award-winning, full-service farm-to-table restaurant, and beautifully designed gardens all on 6 acres of land. You’ll feel right at home in the luxurious and spacious guest suites or in one of the many common areas found on the property. The location of the inn is convenient to all the outdoor activities of Bingham Park and is within walking distance of downtown Hawley. The Settlers Inn also participates in the Hawley Bike Share program. Bikes complete with baskets and locks are available at the Inn to pick up and go explore the town. There are many specials offered throughout the year at the Inn. Currently, Settlers is offering The Lodge Luxury Spa Getaway and Max’s Wagaway Special for guests traveling with pets.
Our sister property, Ledges Hotel, is a historic Poconos hotel located just a mile down the road from Settlers. The hotel offers a gorgeous great room with fireplace and views of the river gorge, multi-tiered deck with plenty of chairs to kick up your feet and garden area with seating. Their restaurant, Glass, offers small plates and drinks and live entertainment every Friday evening. The guest rooms at Ledges range from cozy single rooms to 1 and 2 bedroom suites. The suites feature living areas and fully equipped kitchens. Like The Settlers Inn, Ledges offers specials throughout the year. Their current specials include the Suite Serenity Retreat and the Java Jive getaway for coffee lovers.
If you plan on traveling with a group of friends or family, the 3-bedroom Hudson Street rental might just be the perfect spot to gather. The home has a living room with wood burning fireplace, breakfast room, dining room, and wrap-around deck with outdoor seating. It’s hard to beat the views each day of the Lackawaxen River, and it’s close to all the happenings of Lake Wallenpaupack.
