What to Expect from the Honesdale Roots and Rhythm Festival This Year

Since it began in 2006, the Roots and Rhythm Festival’s mission is to bring music, art, and people together in Honesdale. Check their website for the latest info on the Main Street schedule of events.

While the 2017 lineup is finalized, here’s a taste of groups who have performed in the past. Last year at the Honesdale Roots and Rhythm Festival, concert goers enjoyed music from Lone Duck, JP Williams Blues Band, Teddy Young & The Aces and The Dishonest Fiddlers. Amy Helm was the headliner last year and put on a great show! There was also a late night ramble from 10 p.m. to midnight at the Cooperage. Attendees will also have access to food vendors and one-of-a-kind art vendors on Artist Row.

Children’s activities are put on by Tunes and Tales. Events in years past have included games, potato sack races, crafts, folk music, history with The Wayne County Historical Society and the National Parks Service. Another popular spot for the over-21 crowd is the Honesdale Rotary Beer and Wine Garden.

No matter what activities and events you choose to experience, you’ll have an incredible summer day listening to the music filling the streets, good food, family, and shopping. Join the hundreds of visitors who flock to this festival each year. You won’t be disappointed.
