Wayne County Fair PAThe 161st Annual Wayne County Fair PA is back this August in Honesdale. Since 1862, the Wayne County Fair has been a tourist favorite as visitors from all around the region come to check out the unique exhibits, concerts on the main stage and entertaining shows. This year’s fair will be held from August 4-12.

Admission

The Wayne County Fair is sponsored by the Wayne County Cooperative Agricultural Society. The fairgrounds are located on Rte. 191 N in Honesdale. Tickets are a Pay One Price admission for just $12 per person which includes parking, most shows and rides. Senior Citizens can enjoy admission for $6 on the special dates of August 4 and 9 from 9 a.m. to closing. Visitors also have the option to purchase a season ticket for $50, which does not include rides. Fairgrounds open daily at 9 a.m. The exhibits are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and rides from noon to 11 p.m.

Entertainment

The schedule is packed with lots of fun for the whole family. Friday, August 4 opens with Harness Racing at 1 p.m. and a Demolition Derby with 70 cars competing at 7 p.m. On Sunday, August 6, there’s a Farm Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. and a Kids’ Pedal Pull at 5 p.m.  Monday, August 7 brings a Semi Truck and Gas 4WD Truck Pull at 7 p.m. A performance by Green River Band is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9 followed by fireworks. There’s more harness racing on Thursday, August 10.  Then buckle up for the Demolition Derby at 6 p.m. Monster Truck Freestyle makes an appearance on Friday, August 11. Families will love the Woodsmen’s Competition on Saturday, August 13 followed by Black Cat Hell Drivers Stunt Show at 7:30 p.m.

Extras

At the south end of the fairgrounds, there will be a small stage with performances held throughout the week. Performers include Buffalo and Brandy Magical Music Show, The Robert Tellefsen Band performing classic rock, Arnie’s Milk Truck and Buffalo Mountain Bluegrass. Also, be on the lookout for Larry the Chainsaw Carver, glass blowing demonstrations, Dino-Roar and Rosaire’s Royal Racers, racing pigs in the southwest corner.

The town of Honesdale is located about ten miles from Hawley, PA. After a fun filled time at the fairgrounds, stay the night at The Settlers Inn.
