About Kittatinny Canoes

Kittatinny Canoes opened in 1941 when owner Ruth Jones’ parents purchased riverfront property that came with a few boats and canoes. Today the business has grown to become one of the largest fleets of canoes, rafts, kayaks, and tubes in the world.

Reservations run on the hour. Participants are asked to arrive early to fill out release forms, put on gear and check-in. Walk-ins are accepted, but a reservation will ensure a specific trip. In the off-season, guests are asked to call ahead for times.

Whitewater rafting is available all year long. No experience is necessary, and rafting makes a great activity for groups or families. Enjoy amazing views of the Pocono Mountains as you paddle by rock formations and cliffs.  With tours lasting around 2-3 hours, it’s the perfect way to cool down during the summertime. Tubing is a 3-mile long tour. Persons interested in canoeing will find whitewater for experienced paddlers and calm areas for beginners. There are many different trips planned out by Kittatinny based on experience. Canoers can choose from an 18-mile adventure to a 6-mile day trip for beginners.

There are a few ways to save when planning your Delaware River adventure. Specials include discounts for children and for large groups. Children under 11 years of age paddle free with entire family. Bus discounts include a $1.00 off per person with groups of 20 or more. Scouts, churches and youth groups save with one night free on canoe, kayak or raft trips.

So whether you are interested in a day trip or an overnight adventure, check out Kittatinny Canoes for an experience like no other. To make a reservation, their office is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm May through August, 9:00am to 7:00pm in September and 9:00am to 5:00pm October through April. In addition to rentals, be sure to ask about the rafts, kayaks, and canoes that are for sale at the River Beach Campsite and the Adventure Center in Barryville, New York.
