Learn About the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance

Delaware Valley Arts AllianceLocated in the Arlington Hotel in Narrowsburg, New York is the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.  The Alliance was founded in 1976 and hosts artist receptions and performances at the Tusten Hotel nearby year round.  The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance mission is to advance the arts in the region through support and encouragement of artists, innovative programs, advocacy, and artistic, business and government alliances.

The Arlington Hotel which houses the Alliance was built in 1894.  It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.  In addition to housing the Alliance Gallery, the building hosts workshops and classes in the arts.  The nearby Tusten Theatre is also part of the Arts Alliance as it presents concerts, operas and other performances throughout the year.

The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance most recent exhibit which ended on Dec 23rd was Art in Sixes.  This exhibit of small works by local artists just celebrated ten years at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and has become a popular year end event each year.  Pieces found at this exhibit are for sale and works include paintings, sculptures, photography and much more.  This fall at the Arts Alliance, there was a two person exhibit including photographs by John Back and Jan Tyniec at the Delaware Arts Centers Loft Gallery.  Both artists work consists of landscape photos with attention to detail.

Another Alliance event showcasing music and art is the annual Riverfest.  This yearly event highlights the artists who live and work in the Delaware River region.  All art found at this fun event is artist made.  From posters to paintings, pottery, jewelry and textiles, there is so much to choose from.  Admission is free and is entertaining for the whole family with music all day and information booths to peruse and enjoy.
