The Lake Wallenpaupack Fireworks are an Amazing Sight to Behold
For years, Lake Wallenpaupack has been the place to be for the annual 4th of July fireworks show. The Lake Wallenpaupack fireworks are an amazing sight to behold. After a day spent in the summer sun with food, family and friends, it’s the perfect way to end this patriotic holiday. The fireworks show begins around 9:30pm and are set off from an area near Wallenpaupack High School. Load up the whole family, bring your friends and settle in for a fantastic light display in the night sky this upcoming Independence Day.
Sponsors for this event in years past have been the Lighthouse Harbor Marina and Pocono Lake Region Chamber of Commerce. Other businesses that have made this event possible are Silver Birches Resort, The Boathouse Restaurant, Sterling Marina, The Dime Bank, The Wayne County Commissioners and many, many more. Because of the financial commitment from area businesses and donations from residents, the show is able to be put on each year. The fireworks show is so grand that it draws a large crowd to the area campgrounds, restaurants, and marinas. Since Lake Wallenpaupack is the 3rd largest lake in Pennsylvania, there are plenty of opportunities for water recreation in the summertime. Visitors to the area enjoy boating, fishing and swimming and what better day to enjoy these activities than the 4th of July.
There are a few places to watch the fireworks on the Fourth. Parking is available in the high school lot and opens at 7:00pm. The bleachers at the high school are also a popular spot for viewing the show. Many visitors will also watch from their boats for an up close viewing spot. Local stations participate and play patriotic music to accompany the show. To view the fireworks right on Lake Wallenpaupack, consider a cruise on a Wallenpaupack Scenic Boat Tour. Nighttime rides start at 8:00pm and include a short ride around the lake and then will dock for guests to watch the fireworks. Tickets for this ride sell out quickly so be sure to purchase early. Tickets go on sale on June 1st.
