Biking Downtown

There is no better way to explore downtown Hawley in the warmer months than cruising around on a bike! The Hawley Bike Share Program makes bikes available to the community free of charge. You can find bikes to use on our front porch. They even come equipped with a basket on the front to carry all of your purchases. It’s a win/win because you are not only exploring the area but it’s also great exercise, and it’s good for the environment.

Walking Tour

If biking isn’t your thing, check out a walking tour. Embark on a two-mile walking tour that begins at the perimeter of Bingham Park, continues beside the Lackawaxen River, through the Riverside Park Natural Area, and past the historic buildings of downtown. In 2014, Hawley was one of 20 towns to win the Benjamin Moore Main Street Matters Contest. The town got a fresh new look with the help of over $160,000 in updates.

Shopping in Downtown Hawley

One must-see shopping destination in Hawley is the Hawley Silk Mill. This building is the largest bluestone structure in the world and was built in 1880. Hawley Silk Mill is home to many shops, galleries, a fitness center, a college, and local favorite Cocoon Coffee House and Bakery. If you love fresh bread and roasted coffee, stop by Cocoon. Items to buy while you’re there include locally made cheeses, seasonal organic produce, craft beer and freshly baked pastries and cakes.

Ritz Company Playhouse

For a night on the town, make plans to attend a show at the Ritz Company Playhouse. Located on Keystone Street, the Ritz offers live theater productions for the Hawley/Lake Wallenpaupack region. The Annual Christmas Show takes place during Hawley Winterfest and is free of charge. For other shows during the season, tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
